MLB Best Bets: Mon, 4/17
Monday, Monday...
Good morning, squad! It was another early morning for me and I couldn’t sit down to build my projections and make my picks until I helped pack some of my kids’ lunches and cleaned up in the kitchen.
I am a firm believer in gender equality and sharing household duties and responsibilities…
Just kidding (no I really do believe in that), I mean I am kidding that I am about to go on and on about something other than sports. Ain’t nobody got time for that! I enjoy writing a lot, and at some point maybe I will write a book or a short story or something. But this newsletter is focused on betting on sports, so sometimes I have to remind myself to KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID!
Fewer words and more numbers! Here’s yesterday’s recap before we get into today’s set of games.
Sunday 4/16 Recap
3-star: 5-2, 2-star 5-2, 1-star 2-0, ML Parlay 0-1, HR 1-0
Total: 13-5, +5.19 units
That’s just what the doctor ordered to right the ship after a few rocky days!
Season-to-date through 4/16: 137-129-1, +14.98 Units
3 Star: 49-34, 2 Star: 51-47, 1 Star: 19-22-1, ML Parlay: 10-7, HR: 8-19
Straight Bets
3-Stars:
Rangers -1.5 (-115)
I don’t care if they are on the road again, we are going back to a DeGrom-Lyles matchup any chance we get, and these odds are pretty solid.
2-Stars:
Braves -1.5
Max Fried makes his return from injury, while Ryan Weathers (San Diego’s worst starter) takes the hill for the Padres. Weathers is going to get blown up sooner or later and Atlanta’s offense has been on a tear.
1-Star:
SFG-MIA UNDER 7.5 runs
Logan Webb and Jesus Luzardo are both legit and get these offenses on the wrong sides of their splits (Giants worst to lefties, Marlins worse against righties). This is just a low number already, but I think these two can duel their way to a low-scoring result.
Money Line Parlay:
ATL + TEX = (+144 DK)
