NFL Best Bets: Week 14
It's the hap-happiest season of all.
Some people are Christmas people. And it feels like most people. I am not a Christmas person, but I am also not a communist or the worst person you know because of it.
It probably has to do with the fact that if something gets horribly overblown and immensely popular, I tend to shrink back and look for something else to be into. Maybe I am a big “New Year’s Eve” guy instead, how’s that sound?
I shouldn’t grumble too much, I love seeing my kids excited to open their gifts, I enjoy the old-school Christmas music, and baking cookies and all that stuff. I just wish Christmas wasn’t the entire month of December. It feels like every night we are doing some kind of Christmas thing. I grow weary of it.
But it’s now just two weeks away and so it’s time to make sure all those last-minute presents get bought and all the loose ends are tied up. My favorite part of Christmas is the all-day NBA games, overeating, and usually sneaking some afternoon booze between events.
Anyhow, I hope you are those you care about are settling in for the long Winter season. We should have some great football this weekend, so I hope you are able to watch some games and make some bets in between all that shopping and Christmas preparations.
